Steps

  1. Enter the bill amount and tip percentage.
  2. Set the number of people if the bill is being split.
  3. Use Goal mode to find the tip percentage implied by a target total.
Example

Example: a 20% tip on a $50 bill is $10, for a $60 total.

Formula / method

Tip = bill × tip percentage ÷ 100. Per-person total = total ÷ number of people.
